The Slayer’s Daily Kick

incorporating Fantasy & Science Fiction

Pict Version

August 25, 2053

Hola, Y’All!

The Daily Kick’s 50 years old this week; we started out as a weekly, but as the InfoAge bit, our Watchers were never gonna just be satisfied with getting their updates once a week. The cover date on the very first, ish was the 29th, but we thought -- Lets celebrate every day this week. More cake for Donna! (And as stuffy old Abe [my flesh Watcher] insists on pointing out, more training for Donna to burn off those calories. Bad calories! Naughty calories!)

On the subject of updates, you Watchers who ain’t getting enough updates with just the daily posting can click here for our Premium Service, with hourly updates on what’s going on in Sunnydale and Venice.

For SuperPrem real-time updates, including Angeliad Watchers covering L.A, just click here. Our Sister (should that be Bro?) Mag celebrates their own 50th at Halloween, and old Angelus has a few treats lined up of his own (least, as far as I can tell: him ‘n’ me ain’t bestest buddies, so I get only hints of what’s happening. That’s assuming he ain’t selling me shrimp as salmon…).

So, I hear you cry, what have you got for us, Donna?

Well, Ed Speaks here. It’s kinda interesting, if you’re into all that history stuff, (and a lot of our Watchers are) and includes something on our subsidary, F & SF, which is even older; 104 years old, in a month or two. (You know, me I’m better at kicking vamp bods than dates)

This year is the 40th Anniversary of Harlan Ellison’s becoming a Grand Master of SFFWA. This most precognitive of GM’s was of course the first one to embrace multi-media; he wrote for both tee-vee as well as print (Ed’ll explain the old terms). We interviewed his clone, HEllison, in his orbital habitat, where he’s already kicking up a storm, only a couple of years after his first sale!

We’ve got a feature on Sarah Michelle Geller, the proto-slayer for us today gals. We see what she’s doing nowadays in her retirement condo in the Swiss Islands. We’re gonna do her co-stars from the Flat Age this week: on Friday, we’ll be doing The Mother (Or Father?) of all profiles, when we run Saint Joss’ full life story, and talk to his upload live on stream (This is for SuperPrem subscribers – book NOW to avoid disappointment).

So that’s all the dates and facts’n’stuff. Here’s the fiction:

We look at Slayers past, present, future and alternate.

I’m featured in today’s long story, Wall of Green, as I get mixed up with all kinds of undead while on holiday touring The Galveston Bloom.

We go back to a 1940’s that never was, with Spike and Dru on tour, as they’re Going Underground in London, England. This has Nazi’s and stiff upper lips, and all kindsa fun galore!

We go still further back, to the African plains at The Dawn of Time, for the very first Slayerfest with the night creatures in Night Must Fall.

Lastly, we head forwards for a ver-ry creepy look at one possible outcome in The Last Slayer.

Hasta Luego!
